Project Life: Finishing up February

Life has been super busy this past week, with little time for one of my favorite pasttimes: blogging! In fact, I went two days without turning on my computer! SHOCKERS!

February 20: Celebrating Grayson Attended a wonderful shower for Lauren and her new baby boy, Grayson. We are all eagerly awaiting his arrival in April! He is one prayed for little boy.

February 21: MIA M and I couldn't find Gretel this afternoon. I just happened to walk past her kennel and saw her snuggled in with "Piggy," her snugglie.

February 22: Hiding Gretel M tried to sneak Gretel into bed with her. With all her other snugglies, I almost missed Gretel tucked in there with her!

February 23: Four Ponytails M does not really like ponytails, so I was shocked when she wanted to spend her money on these princess ponytail holders. I was even more shocked when she asked for four ponytails this morning.

February 24: Reading Together A sweet shot of H and M reading together before bed.

February 25: Deliciousness

This is a local restaurant that is amazing. No other word can describe it than delicious. Homemade macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, pole beans, bread. My mouth waters just thinking about it.

February 26: After It's Quiet When the day has come to a quiet end, we sometimes fine Mocha and Gretel snuggled together on the couch. There were just a few fleeting thoughts of doubt before Gretel came home. How would Mocha adjust? She's nine, after all. But there was not one thing to worry about. Mocha loves Gretel and seeks her out.

February 27: Eating Out M is getting old enough to make her selection from a menu when we eat out. As soon as she saw the smoothie option, she was sold. We still ordered her a dinner, but ended up bringing it home because she was so full from this smoothie!

February 28: My Little HelperM helped make two batches of brownies this afternoon. She is growing into such a good little helper. She did most of the stirring and almost all of the tasting. She was so proud of herself!

Project Life: February 18 and 19

February 18: I'm so full of love

I love this quirky, funny girl more than I could ever tell. She found these goggles and wanted to wear them in the tub. She looked hilarious when she had them on her eyes and I hurt her feelings because I was laughing at her. She wore them like this the entire bath time.

February 19: Welcome home, Gretel!

Gretel is the newest member of our family and she coudl not be more loved. We've had her about 4 hours and she's smothered with attention! Welcome home, Gretel.

February 17: Temporary Addiction

We can not stop watching the Olympics. As soon as we walk in the door, we click on the TV and, like a magnet, are glued to the tube. It doesn't matter which sport is being broadcast, we're utterly and completely addicted!

February 16: A Cup of Joe

I've only been a coffee drinker for about two years. I'd go so far as to say I'm a recreational coffee drinker. I prefer Starbucks to homemade, but only because I happen to love the fat-laden, sugar-heavy concotions they create upon demand. But my addiction is slowly making itself at home, at home. And I'm taking everyone down with me. M loves coffee as much as I do, as long as it's creamy and sweet! There are a few areas in which we're like mother, like daughter!

February 15: Breakfast Celebration

This is my dear friend, Donna. There are too many wonderful things to say about her, so I won't even begin. Several friends got together this morning to celebrate her birthday. It was a fun time of fellowship for the moms and the kids. Happy Birthday. Donna! We love you!

ETA: This is my Project Life blog where I post the pictures I take each day documenting our life. Sometimes I post each day, but there are times when life is too demanding and I can't post. Therefore, you'll find some posts only have one picture, but others are a catch-up post with several pictures. Each Tuesday, Project Life-ers all over the internet link up to one another to share their pictures for the week. (I'll post my Tuesday picture later today.) You can click on the button below for more information.

February 10: A Gift for You

Tonight the men at our church hosted a dinner in honor of the women. It was a super sweet evening. I had the biggest purse at our table, so I came home with this delightful potted plant.

February 11: Love These are, without a doubt, M's best friends. She loves them so very much. Each one has a special place when she goes to bed. One by each ear and Beary in her hand.

February 12: Snow Day!

We had a perfect snow day today! It was overcast and gray this morning. The rain started around 1 and the snow started falling around 4. We had a blast playing in it for about 30 minutes.

Project Life: February 8 and 9

February 8: No Horse and Carriage

Me: M, why is Snow White in my shoe?

M: I put her there.

Me: Why?

M: Because she didn't have a horse and carriage, so I borrowed your shoe.

February 9: Counting Down

M has been SUPER excited about some things this month, so I made a calendar for her. Each morning, she puts a sticker on the day as she counts down to the things she's looking forward to (visiting her g'parents, Valentine's Day, etc.). This is the highlight of her mornings!

February 4: Family Game Time

M loves to play games, but not to lose! This is a valuable teaching time for us as she learns to play by the rules and except losing, as well as winning.

February 5: Cousin Love

R and Uncle T were waiting for us when we arrived at Nona and OB's house. M and R enjoyed playing together. I love seeing the sweet love between the girls.

February 6: Vince Flynn

It's HIM! It's REALLY HIM! This is my dad (in the blue sweatshirt) and Vince Flynn (in the blazer).
My dad and Vince Flynn again.

Me!!! Me AND Vince Flynn! I almost couldn't even talk to him I was so starstruck. He is my favorite author and now I have a book signed by him. He was incredible: so down to earth, so REAL. This will always be a highlight in my life. (This is the picture I'll include in my album)

February 7: Super Bowl Games

The K's allowed us to crash their house to watch Super Bowl 44. We had so much fun with the youth. They really seem to enjoy H a lot. I can understand why: he's such a teenager himself. This is halftime and we're playing a ringtoss game. The youth won, despite being outnumbered 2 to 1!

February 03: A little love...

M and I had such a great time making all these Valentine's Day cards to decorate our house. They are hanging on ribbon between the dining room and living room.

February 01: Sweetness

Oh, I can not begin to tell you how completely and utterly sweet Little K is. M enjoyed chasing her around for about 1 minute. It wasn't too much fun when the little one didn't do what she wanted!
